Mój konfig Xorg odnośnie klawiatury wygląda tak:

Jednak nie mogę używać polskich znaków, czy to w xterminalu, czy w polach tekstowych przeglądarki, itp. Dopiero:

powoduje, że mogę używać pisać używając polskich znaków diakrytycznych.

Czemu evdev a nie kbd?
Jeśli to nie pomoże to pewnie masz kde4 i musisz sobie to wyklikać w ustawieniach.
